When you die, simply delete your existing Hardcore save and use the USB to restore your old save game file to pick up where you left off. As long as you have an external USB drive or thumbstick, you can upload your save game to that drive. Though this sounds intimidating, there is a trick to make it significantly easier. You will still autosave and can take breaks, but if you die your Hardcore save is reset to the beginning of the game. Though the difficulty is not mentioned, from my experience it seems concurrent with the other modes’ Hard difficulty setting. Hardcore mode introduces permadeath to Dead Space. When you select Hardcore mode, the game will make a new save file, so none of your inventory or upgrades will carry over. Good luck! You unlock Hardcore mode by completing the story on any difficulty. This will show which co-op missions you still need to complete and even allow you to select that mission and start playing right where that mission is, so if you want to skip them during the game, you can easily get back to where they are. In chapter select there is an option to view your progress for each chapter. This includes the three optional co-op missions as well. Complete each of these missions for this trophy. Throughout the course of the game you will be given ten optional missions that will send you on an alternate path to collect items and resources. Simply beat the game on any one of these difficulty settings to unlock this trophy. There are four difficulty settings to choose from when you start the game. Complete the game on any difficulty setting. Simple! Just collect all of the other trophies and this one is yours!
